Beautiful Resorts in Leros Municipality!
Leros Municipality is part of Kalymnos peripheral unit and is one of the municipalities in the Dodecanese group of islands. It includes many beautiful towns and comprises some islets with few numbers of inhabitants, such as Pharmakonisi, Levitha and Kinaros. There are few other uninhabited islets in Leros Municipality.
The Municipality of Leros has 8,207 inhabitants, but this number rises to more than 15,000 in summer. This is apparently because many Greeks take vacation in the beautiful Leros Island to enjoy its beautiful beaches and bays, get to historical places and museums that display Leros brief history and the ancient history of the island as well and visit the nearby islands in the Dodecanese.

The beautiful Platanos Town is the capital of Leros and one of the beautiful towns in Leros Municipality. It is on the waist of the island about 5 kilometres from the airport in Partheni, 4 kilometres north of Lakki, 2.1 kilometres from Agia Marina and 2.4 kilometres from Alinda. The town descends from over the heights towards Pandeli and Agia Marina.
It is considered combined with Agia Marina and Pandeli the unit that makes the capital of Leros Island. The total number of inhabitants is over 3,500. Platani is the island's traditional centre and commercial centre. The commercial centre of Leros Island stands with some commercial companies, banks, museums, city hall with a library, a castle, bus station and touristy units.
The Olympic Airlines is down before the way to Pandeli. The castle of Pandeli is in Pandeli unit with a museum. From the castle, there are stunning views to beautiful areas. Plateia N Roussou, the central square of Platanos or Platani is lively area.
The bus station and the taxi is few metres away on Platani-Lakki road. Harami leads from the square to Agia Marina. At the right side of Harami is the post office. The National Bank of Greece with ATMs is right on the square.
This beautiful part of Leros capital city is the centre of the nightlife in Leros Municipality. There are some bars playing music and open all the night during summer, encouraging the people to enjoy full entertainments in those bars. There are also some cafés where people enjoy playing games.

The beautiful Lakki Town or Lakkio is the second populous town in Leros Municipality living with over 2,366 inhabitants. The Italian built it with their famous Italian architecture. The harbour takes big ferries. It receives ships from different parts of the world even from the Arabian/Persian Gulf. Active commerce run at the quay and the side of the port is Lakki Marina. The beach of Lakki is along the way down and at the middle of the upper coastline on the Bay of Lakki. Near at the northwest of it is the peak of Patelia.

The beautiful Xirokampos Town is one of the iportant towns in Leros Municipality. It is at the southern coast, very near of the beautiful Kalymnos Island and has daily caique to Myrties in Kalymnos. There is a small fishing harbour beside the quay.
Xirokampos has a resort with pebble sandy beach; people use for snorkelling, camping, ruins of a castle, diving club, restaurants and few accommodations. Camping Leros offers tents in a shady olive grove.
There are a nearby restaurant with a bar and a nearby taverna by the beach. The Panos Diving Club offers diving training courses in addition to diving activities to divers.
The beautiful fishing village of Pandeli is also a resort with beautiful blue and white buildings climbing from the seafront to the peaks at the back, where some windmills stand at the top of the heights. There are some seaside tavernas, bars and cafés and shingle, pebble and sandy beach on a bay by the same name and below Cape Aspro. It is full of activities daily both on the beach and the on the sea. There are numbers of beautiful rooms and studios here.

The beautiful beach of Vromolithos is at the south of Pandeli Beach. There are sunbeds and umbrellas. A footpath leads to Vromolithos from Pandeli. It is shingle, narrow beach and there are shady trees beside it.
The waterfront as the whole is green with trees; among them are beautiful white buildings around the waterfront. Those buildings climb from the seaside up to the heights at the back. There are many rooms, restaurants and cafés here.

There are two beautiful resorts at the north of those beaches. The beautiful Krithoni resort is on Alinda Bay. This wide bay reaches about three kilometres. There is a war cemetery beside the waterfront. It contains the graves of the soldiers who died in the war between Germany and Britain after the defeat of the Italian in World War 2. North of Krithoni resort is the beautiful resort of Alinda, which gets sometimes noisy, with heavy motorcycle traffic. Alinda Beach is beautiful pebble beach with clear water.
