Following the coast from this area to the northwest, leads you to Melinta or Melinda (I love the two names; very musical and I hope the sun of Melinda or Melinta will rise in my life).

There are few tavernas offering cheap rooms and food in the beautiful Beach of Melinda. If you walked about one hour and 15 minutes further to the west along the coast, you will reach one of the hot springs.

Hitting your way to the east from this point, you will reach the beautiful Beach of Vatera that extends into 8 kilometres and there are thermal springs there too. See Lesvos Springs.

You will actually be comfort when you reach Vatera from Polychnitos, the seat of the Municipality of Polychnitos. See the municipalities of Lesvos.

There is excavation area near the beautiful beach of Vatera where they discovered animals, fish and plant fossils. Among them are parts of a tortoise and pieces of gigantic horse all of which are dated back to about 5 million years and they are in the Museum of Natural History, in the old school in the village of Vrisa near Vatera at the north.

The resorts on the beach or near it are Vatera Beach Hotel, Aphrodite Beach Hotel, Irini Hotel, Madonna Studios, Dionysos Club and Nefeli Hotel.

Following the coastal line from Plomari to the east, leads you to the beautiful Beach of Agios Isidoros, a narrow beach about 2.5 kilometres away from Plomari.

Continuing east of Agios Isidoros, the coastal line leads you to Tarti through Aghia Varvara (by the way this word has meaning in local Arabic dialect), Evangelistria and Fara.

However, the road to it takes a different direction through Plagia, Trygonas and over Fara in about 15.8 kilometres and it takes about 27 minutes drive.

The beautiful Beach of Tarti is in the southern coast of the Municipality of Gera or Ghera, named after the Bay of Gera or the Bay named after it.
