Beautiful Town of Parikia, called also (Paroikia) is the capital of Paros Beautiful Island. It lies on the beautiful bay of Parikia at the northeast of the island in the place of the ancient capital city of Paros.

Only the harbour of the island is in this town, as the airport is out of the town at a driving distance on the south. The port of the town is very busy. There's a web camera in the main port.

The capital city covers 65 square kilometres and it has 4,500 inhabitants. The new streets squirm around the new rebuilt area of the Venetian Kastro (castle) from the 13th century.

Visitors find good information about the hotels, pensions, rooms, restaurants, transport and other locations in the kiosks on the quay when they reach the capital city.

Right of the quay is the bus station and left of it is the post office. The Windmill area is the busiest area in the capital city and the main square or the Plateia Mavrogenous is a head of it.

There are three roads here. The left road leads at the side of the waterfront to Livadia Beach and the right road runs through lines of cafes on the southwest of the waterfront and the Market Street on the main commercial part of the city runs southwest from the square and through the narrow streets of the old town.

There are 5 sights to visit in Parikia:

1- The remains of the Frankish Kastro that the Venetian Duke of Naxos, Marco Sanudo built in 1260 AD on the remains of Athena's temple. Read about it at Beautiful Naxos Island.

2- The Archaeological Museum at the back of the Panagia Ekatontapyliani.

3- The Panagia Ekatontapyliani dated back to AD 326, in a compound that contains the Agios Nikolaos, the Church of Our Lady and the Baptistery.

4- The Byzantine Museum in the same compound.

5- The Ancient Cemetery that dates to the 7th century BC.

The airport is 7-9 kilometres and it takes 15 minutes, near the village of Alyki. Flights from Athens to the beautiful Paros Island take 45 minutes.

Beautiful Town of Naoussa is one of Paros' beautiful towns although it is a small fishing harbour and a tourists' attraction spot at the north of beautiful Paros.

The village is white clean and beautiful too specially on Naoussa Bay area and up the slope. On Naoussa Bay, the water reflects the shape and the colour of the white buildings and there are some cafes, cafeterias, and rental rooms overlooking the bay and offering a good view of the Aegean Sea.

The stone or blocks cobbled laneways run between the white buildings. The unique architecture of Naousa composes the Eastern style of buildings with arched windows or gateways or arched doors.

The land goes up from the harbour to the hill and the white buildings have blue doors, windows and sometimes frames. The nature is beautiful and the green plants and flowers grow in many places.

Selective people enjoy watching the sunset and walking early in the morning until the beautiful sleeping Naoussa Village comes to life, then they would enjoy the starting moment of the daily life.

Buses from Parikia stop on the main square beside the waterfront. The Byzantine Museum is few metres from the central square on the main road to Parikia and the small Folklore Museum is a short distance from the square. A national folkdance group called Naousa Paros performs every Sunday.

Beautiful Town of Lefkes, the highest village in the island and the ancient capital during the middle Ages is 11 kilometres at the southeast of Parikia and it takes 18 minutes by bus.

As one of the beautiful Paros towns, it has beautiful sights around the old windmills on the hills and the Agias Trias Cathedral is among this scenery attraction in the village.

A Byzantine path leads to the Village of Prodromos about 3 kilometres from the central square. The resort and harbour of Piso Livadi is on the coast about 7.2 kilometres far and it takes 12 minutes drive.

Beautiful Town of Piso Livadi is a picturesque village on the eastern coast of Paros and is 19.6 kilometres far from the airport and it takes 26 minutes from there.

If you travelled to it from Parikia, the way runs about 16.7 kilometres and it takes 25 minutes drive. It is 12 square kilometres far from Naoussa Village and it takes 17 minutes from there.

Beautiful white buildings with greenery scenes overlook the waterfront where many boats sails on sea tours, connect between other beaches or other islands and engage in fishing activities in the sea area. Hospitality in this calm beautiful village seems encouraging to travel to it.
