There are so many beautiful villages in the Island of Kefalonia, or as it is called by some terms, the Island of Kefallonia, the Island of Cephalonia and the Island of Cefalonia.

The beautiful Village of Sami is one of the beautiful Kefalonia villages on the shore of Sami Bay or Ormos Samis, almost in the central eastern coast and the bay stretches from there to Cape Dichalia.

Sami is the seat of Municipality of Sami. The land is green and the trees cover the town starting from the seafront up to the land back of the village and the nature makes Sami one the beautiful Kefalonia villages on the eastern coast.

There are more than 1,320 inhabitants in the beautiful Village of Sami making it the largest populated village in the municipality. See Municipalities of Kefalonia.

The Strait of Ithaca and Agia Efymia Bay border the Sami Bay and behind the bay are the mountains, which are at the back of Sami Village. The Plateia Kyprou or the crossing roads are at the centre of the waterfront.

There are some tourist companies and an ATM service at the north of Plateia Kyprou. The bank, post office, supermarkets and other shops are on the streets of the village behind the waterfront.

Sami Village was one of the ancient capitals of the Island of Kefalonia. The oldest capital city of the Island of Kefallonia was at Agios Georgios in Pastra or Kastro.

The beautiful Village of Sami is about 26 kilometres northeast of Argostoli and it takes about 32 minutes drive. Sami is the main port of the Island of Kefalonia and a fishing village.

There are some beautiful hotels, camping grounds, studios and villas in Sami Village or near it, such as Sami Beach Hotel, Athena Hotel, Hotel Melissani, Green Bay Hotel, Hotel Kastro and Beach Camping Karavomilos. The beautiful Village of Vasilikiades or Vassilikades Village is the seat of the Municipality of Erissos. It is one the beautiful Kefalonia Villages.

Vassilikades lies on a short distance north of the centre of Erissos Peninsula, about 39.8 kilometres northeast of Argostoli and it takes about 52 minutes drive.

It is only 10.6 kilometres southwest of Port Fiskardo on the northeastern coast, vis-à-vis Ethaki and it takes about 13 minutes drive. It is a small traditional village and there are some restaurants, supermarket, a pharmacy and health care centre.

The beautiful Village of Pastra is the seat of the Municipality of Eleios - Pronnoi. It is one the beautiful Kefalonia villages. There are more than 280 inhabitants in Pastra. It is about 29,9 kilometres southeast of Argostoli and it takes about 39 minutes drive.

Pastra Village is about 24.9 kilometres southeast of Keramies Town, the seat of the Municipality of Livathos and it takes about 31 minutes drive.
