Beautiful Santorini Villages!

by Admin

Here are some more Beautiful Santorini Villages in the Cyclades group of islands on the Aegean Sea.

Beautiful Pyrgos Village (Pirgos) on the top of the hill was the old capital city of the Beautiful Santorini Island on the Greek Aegean Sea area.

From this mountainous area at Prophet Elias Mountain, people have good views of the island and the traditional houses in the neighbourhood.

It is 4.9 Kilometres from Fira, the capital city of Santorini and it takes 8 minutes drive. Wines lovers know it for the Santo wines (Santo Winery) that produces tasteful Greek wines.

Beautiful Imerovigli Village on the high cliff of the Caldera is 1.9 kilometres far from the capital towards Oia in the north and it takes 3 minutes drive, but you can walk it. About 470 inhabitants live in white buildings in the village.

It is home to Skaros, the remaining of the Venetian castle, which the ruler of the Cyclades, Marco Sanudo built in 1207 in the village, in addition to the monastery of Saint Nikolaos on the way to Fira.

Beautiful Megalochori Village at the south is 5.6 kilometres from the capital on the way to Akrotiri and it takes 9 minutes drive.

It is an old village from the 19th century where some white buildings still exist since that time. It has also narrow ways, white houses, and arched bells towers, high on Mount Profitias Elias.

The name "Megalochori" means the large village or the big village and it is pronounced with the first "o" and the "c" letters almost silent.

Beautiful Paradeisos Village near Oia at the north is 9.2 kilometres far from the capital and it takes 13 minutes drive. At the eastern coast, 4.5 kilometres far from Oia, it takes 7 minutes drive. It is also 3.1 kilometres far from Foinikia and it takes 4 minutes drive.

Take directions through the Beautiful Santorini Villages; locate hotels, pensions, villas and tourists' attractions from the map below. If you had been there, write about those Beautiful Santorini Villages. Thanks.
