See Beautiful Kefallonia Towns!

Here are some more beautiful Kefallonia towns or beautiful towns in Kefallonia Island. Some of those beautiful towns are seats of municipalities in Kefallonia Island or just important beautiful towns.

The Town of Agia Effimia, Agia Afimia or Agia Evfymia is the seat of the Municipality of Pylaros. It is one of the beautiful Kefallonia towns. It has a small fishing and busy harbour.

The centre of the town is on the harbour where many activities such as yachting charters run. The Boulevard is the main road around the harbour.

Some coves are on the northeastern coast along the costal way from the town of Agia Efimia to Sami, such as Agia Paraskevi and some coves among them are difficult to access without boats.

Boats go from the small harbour at Agia Effimia to Ithaca, Astakos and other ports in other islands in the surroundings. Most of the buildings are new or renovated, few are ruined and the green land behind them ascends to the heights. There are modern shops, restaurants and bars and four windmills up on the heights.

The road on the harbour runs south towards Sami as Agia Effimias-Samis Street in about 8.7 kilometres and it takes about 10 minutes drive. It runs from Agias Effimias through Sami to Argostoli in about 34.4 kilometres and it takes about 41 minutes drive.

There are some hotels in the town or near it on the way to Neochori such as Kefalonia Bay Palace Hotel, Odyssey Hotel and Hotel Boulevard Pyllaros on the way to Neochori and Raftopoulos Studios & Apartments.

The Town of Kerameies or Keramies Town is the seat of the Municipality of Livathos and is one of the beautiful Kefallonia towns. It lies in the green fertile land of citrus, vineyards and olive groves, about 11.6 kilometres away from Argostoli at the south and it takes about 16 minutes drive. It is about 7.8 kilometres at the east of Kefalonia airport and it takes about 13 minutes drive.

Keramies Town is on the southwestern part of the island surrounded by small villages, some of which have historical locations and ruins and some other tourists' attractions.

Those locations are Lakithra, Kaligata, Kourkoumelata, Metaxata, Pessada and Peratata. It is also close to many villages in this municipality, some of which, especially those on the way from Argostoli had merged into one village for administrational purposes. See locations, distances and other information about these locations at the main page.

In addition to the municipal administration, it has a kindergarten and a high school.

There are more than 390 inhabitants in the town, less than the population in other beautiful towns in the municipality. See the Municipalities of Kefalonia.

Kastro is above the village of Peratata and it was the capital of the island during the middle ages until 1757.

The Town of Poros or Elio Proni is one of the beautiful Kefallonia towns. It is a small fishing village with a harbour in the Municipality of Eleios - Pronnoi or Eliou Pronon, about 9,9 kilometres at the northeast of Pastra, the seat of the municipality and it takes about 13 minutes drive.

Elio Proni is about 40 kilometres at the southeast of Argostoli and it takes about 51 minutes drive. It is about 13 kilometres from Skala at the south and it takes about 15 minutes drive along the southeastern coast.

The coastline of the town is 2.5 kilometres long. Some boats run between the harbour and Kastro-Kyllini in Zakynthos Island and other harbours in Kefalonia. Small peak separates the beach from the harbour. See beaches in Kefalonia and hotels in Kefalonia above.

The historical ruins are on the way to the town and there are tavernas, rooms, a bank, pharmacy, doctor, post office, police station and local shops in the square of the town. There are more than 175 inhabitants in the town.

The Town of Fiskardo or Fiscardo Town is small town in the Municipality of Erissos at the top north of the Island of Kefalonia. It is one of the beautiful Kefallonia towns.

It lies about 10.6 kilometres from Vassilikiades, the seat of the municipality and it takes about 13 minutes drive. Fiskardo is about 49.6 kilometres away from Argostoli and it takes about 64 minutes. There are more than 330 inhabitants in the town.

The cypress trees cover the hills around the Town of Fiskardo, giving it a pleasant green presence. The earthquake hit Kefalonia Island in 1953 and damaged part of the town. However, there are still Venetian buildings scattering in some places in the town.

There is a wide docking coast and so many yachting activities that make the Town of Fiskardo crowded in the high season. Ferries link the town to the beautiful Lefkada Island and the Island of Ithaki and there are few bus tours between Fiskardo, Sami and Argostoli.

The main square in the town is near the waterfront. There is an environmental and nautical club in the Town of Fiskardo. See municipalities of Kefalonia.

Some long beaches and small coves make the coast of the town beautiful. See beautiful beaches in Kefalonia Island.

The Town of Fiskardo has also some restaurants, hotels, rooms, studios and apartments, such as Emelisse Hotel, Faros Suites, Stella Apartments and Agnantia Apartments. See beautiful hotels in Kefalonia Island above.
